Street Shield & Outreach Operations is SMS's direct outreach and stabilization program, designed to meet veterans where they are and address immediate needs that often fall outside traditional systems.

Not every veteran in crisis is ready or able to walk into an office, schedule appointments, or navigate complex systems. Many are living through instability, isolation, or survival situations where basic needs must be addressed first.

Street Shield brings support directly into the community.

Through trained outreach teams known as Shield Operators, SMS connects with veterans in parks, encampments, public spaces, shelters, and other environments where help is needed most.

The goal is not simply to distribute supplies.

The goal is to establish human connection, stabilize immediate conditions, and create pathways back toward recovery and support.
