The Forge Health & Wellness Center

Forging Strength.

The Forge Health & Wellness Center is a planned flagship initiative of Second Mission Shield. It is envisioned as a future headquarters and hybrid recovery space designed to support veterans through physical training, wellness education, and peer connection.

Once established, The Forge will bring together structured fitness, recovery-focused workshops, and community-based programming in one dedicated environment. The goal is to create consistent routines, reinforce accountability, and support long-term stability beyond short-term intervention.

Why It Matters

Recovery requires more than treatment alone. Veterans need structure, purpose, and environments that support healthy routines over time.

Many systems focus on crisis stabilization but offer few spaces where veterans can continue rebuilding once the immediate emergency has passed. Without consistent structure and community, long-term progress becomes harder to maintain.

The Forge is being developed to bridge that gap. It provides a place where physical engagement, wellness practices, and peer connection work together to support sustained recovery and stability.

What This Program Does

Training & Personal Development

• Structured Physical Training – Provides environments that reinforce routine, discipline, and accountability.

• Wellness & Resilience Workshops – Offers programming focused on coping skills, mental health awareness, and personal growth.

• Peer-Led Mentorship – Facilitates programming that strengthens connection, mentorship, and shared responsibility among veterans.

Community & Recovery Environment

• Community & Recovery Gatherings – Creates consistent spaces for meetings, skill-building activities, and community engagement.

• Program Coordination Hub – Supports multiple Second Mission Shield initiatives through centralized events, coordination, and outreach.

• Long-Term Stability Environment – Provides a place where veterans can rebuild structure, strengthen identity, and maintain forward momentum.

Who It's For

The Forge is designed to serve veterans across multiple stages of transition and recovery.

It supports individuals rebuilding structure after periods of instability, veterans seeking ongoing wellness support, and those looking for a disciplined community environment that reinforces growth.

Participation does not require being in crisis or enrolled in another program. The Forge is intended to support veterans who want to maintain forward momentum and continue strengthening their lives after service.

Purpose & Service on the Continuum

Transition & Reintegration | Support & Stabilization | Recovery & Rebuilding | Purpose & Service

The Forge Health & Wellness Center supports veterans across Second Mission Shield’s full continuum of care.

Unlike programs designed for only one phase of recovery, The Forge functions as a shared environment where veterans can engage at multiple stages of their journey.

Veterans transitioning out of service can access structure and community. Those navigating stabilization can participate in peer support and wellness programming. Individuals further along their recovery can maintain discipline, mentorship roles, and continued personal development.

By combining physical training, peer connection, wellness education, and structured programming, The Forge provides a place where veterans can enter, grow, and remain connected as they move through different phases of recovery.

Rather than serving a single stage, The Forge strengthens the entire Second Mission Shield continuum by reinforcing stability, community, and long-term growth.
